Now this is a true Maine destination wedding done right. Lauren and Gio planned this incredible wedding from over 2,000 miles away in Colorado and they rocked it. Amazingly enough, they had just one spur-of-the-moment road trip to check things out in Maine and meet with Jeremy and I. Most everything was planned from their home state. Jeremy and I worked closely with Lauren to make sure the flow of events went well, allowing adequate time for great photos. Now there is a lot ridding on choosing the perfect venue for a “Maine Destination Wedding”. Lauren and Gio decided on The Samoset Resort in Rockport, Maine and let’s just say it has it all. It’s located in the perfect little coastal Maine town, between Rockland and Camden.

We arrived at the resort on a warm and sunny Saturday morning, who could ask for a better day. Jeremy and I met up with Lauren and Gio for the getting ready stages of the day. It was obvious that they both were super excited and ready to get the day started. Lauren and Gio tied the knot at a beautiful spot on the resort’s lush green lawns under a shady spot provided by a large oak tree. The view was nothing short of fantastic, this spot overlooked the vast ocean and the breakwater light house, several lobster buoys could be seen bobbing from the waves. Even the sound of lobster boats could be heard in the distance as they navigated through Rockland harbor. Now, when you think of “Maine Destination Wedding” how does that not fit the bill? It was perfect. Following the short and sweet ceremony, we headed to the Samoset’s finely manicured golf course lawns for family and bridal party photos. Bride and groom photos followed and then it was time gather for the cocktail hour under the tent. Before we knew it, it was time for formal introductions at the reception in the main ball room. So much dancing and great food to be had all night long!
